I haven't seen a mage fireball do more than 3 hearts after testing it on multiple classes, it varies between 2-3 hearts of damage but 2.5 hearts seems to be the most frequent, I think it depends on where you shoot the person (feet body etc) that's still a very low damage and mage can't do much...

Its just bad. Its an annoying class to play as and play against its primary purpose is harassing archers but an archer who isn't terrible can easily beat it in a 1v1 if he lands a few arrows and most of the time its just you running from swordsmen until you get hit with a few arrows or run out...
