We, the GLD Administration, come to you today in hopes of recruiting you to play on our brand new Minecraft server! GLD, otherwise known as the Great Light Desert, is our towny Minecraft server where over 160+ active and competitive players from across the globe come to display their pvp dominance by joining or creating towns and nations to conquer the desert. The map is completely made up of desert and mesa biomes with diamond ores underground more common then iron! Players spend all week building up their town’s defenses in preparation for epic wartimes that are scheduled for different time zones over the course of every weekend!
On our server Towny which is quite similar to Factions is the main game-mode that GLD revolves around. Being like Factions this makes for a very easy game mode to catch on and learn how to play. Towny is a simplified version of factions that does not require faction power, or a need for enough players in order to engage another town. Simply join our server, start or join a town and add whoever you like! Create a bunker base town, or a riveting architectural empire! The choice is yours! Our lovely and helpful staff online will be happy to show you the ropes so feel free to ask many and all questions. We even offer a tutorial in-game and on our website for Towny commands and how-to’s!
Currently the server is in a developmental-mode so that we can work out any final last minute bugs and kinks in the server to ensure a fair and fun launch to our new server. This is why we have come to you, with hope that you would like to test out the server and make any suggestions you think we should implement into GLD, and most importantly to make you a brand new member of our amazing and fun community! The server will officially be launching tomorrow, July 25th at 8pm Eastern Standard Time, with a brand new spawn and custom made map! Upon releasing the new server, we want to give all of our many new players that have been joining a chance to apply for staff after giving everyone an opportunity to see the server and integrate themselves into our community here on GLD!
