Jurassic World (2015)
Jurassic World was the most disappointing thing since my son. No, wait. It's actually the most disappointing thing since my nephew. Like my nephew, the film was lacking a lot of substance and felt like a project no one really cared about because of the stupid script, which is why I compare it to my nephew, Christopher. There's some fun moments here and there. I like how the park looks, the subtle ripoffs- I mean references are neat, and some of the action is pretty fun too. Now what really annoys me is how uninteresting and fun the characters are. I was excited to see Chris Pratt as another fun action cool looking male character in this movie like I did with that Guardians of the Galaxy: Age of Ultron movie, or whatever it's called. I don't care! Anyways, he ended up with the role of a cardboard cutout of those action characters. Same goes with that Claire character. The difference here is that something WAS there to her character. Problem is that it sucked. So did the same with those stupid little kids and that villain. If I were to see this as some campy and scrapped together comedy, I would like this movie. Especially the raptors riding with the guy on the motorcycle which may be the stupidest thing I've ever seen since that Tomorrowland film. The direction wasn't bad, but it was nothing special or unique really. A lot of talented directors have their trademarks but there was nothing here. The music is decent, the effects look crap at times because they used compouters when they shouldn't have at times even when they used animatronics. Overall, the movie lacked realism with the practicallity and the characters, and it gets really stale with time. 5/10
