Because I am from the south, and my ancestors fought for freedom under that banner, and I respect that greatly, and am willing to fight to preserve the past. If you don't like it kiss my grits
I'm glad the south lost.. kept the nation together. you must be really fucked up and twisted to want to preserve the past.. hundreds of thousands lost their lives, AND FUCKING SLAVERY ENDED. BY WAVING THAT FLAG AND SAYING "FREEDOM" THE IRONY IS YOU HOLD SLAVES YOU MOTHERFUCKING RACIST PIECE OF FILTH
The civil war wasn't about slavery, it was about the north oppressing the south, and the south seceding. This flag isn't racist, this is the battle flag. I never said I wanted to preserve slavery, I said I want to preserve the past. By that I meant history, and my ancestors who fought for there own freedom
Call me racist if you will, but it doesn't matter. My family was far too poor to own slaves, on one side we were Irish immigrants, and the other Native Americans. Remembering and respecting my heritage isn't racist, it's what we all should do. Remember those who stood up for freedom, and those who died for what they believed. If you can't respect that then you shouldn't try to argue
I respect heritage but the confederate flag is a symbol of hate, and by flying it on enjin u are preserving that hate. find a family crest or something else then. and it wasn't really oppression - it was the south being a whiny little bitch like they always were up until the civil war due to far less people there. its not oppression its just lack of people ffs
people do what they feel is best, and that is understandable, but once something has been proven, then no one should try and revive that spirit or even feel proud about it, especially if it is too commonly associated with hate. chances are, despite the fact that ur ancestors didn't have slaves, they were racist. the battle for freedom of the slaves I think was the greater focus of the civil war. it was partially about south feeling oppressed, but the south oppressed the slaves, and the north simply fought for freedom of the slaves, so the south are incredibly hypocritical to call themselves oppressed.
lol so your saying some farmers from Ireland came to escape an oppressors hand to oppress others? And some Native Americans, one of the most mistreated people were racist against there own kind? Likely. And if slavery was abolished in the civil war, then why were there still slaves in the northern states? The only reason you associate the civil war with slaves is because most slaves were in the south
Not to forget that the North was oppressing the south. They were being overly taxed and robbed. Also, unless they worked on a giant plantation, the slaves worked with there owners, ate with them, and weren't oppressed at all
I don't know what your talking about. It's not a symbol of hate. The south never was a "whiny bitch" like you say. For me to preserve hate I have to feel hate, and since I don't hate anyone for the way they look or act, you can't call me hateful. I fly the flag my father flew, and his father, and all my fathers
