When I say it doesn't mean slavery, let me explain. This is the battle flag, and those who fought under it were too poor to own slaves. They didn't fight for there slaves, they fought for there own freedom from the oppressive northern states, who were industry based and held high taxes on the poor who could not pay them, or even pay for themselves. I fly the flag not because I'm racist, but because my ancestors fought under it. Understand?

I was born in the south, am white, and I still think flying the flag ain't right. And if I pass it flying high I will shoot it from the sky. I'm proud to live in the south, but that is not the symbol of my pride.
