Honestly... what is these people's problem? They took part in a voting process, and the person they wanted to be elected was, in a democratic and completely fair way, NOT chosen by the people. So what do they do? They go all "I'm a sore loser, so I'm going to demonstrate against someone who was legally elected." Sounds good to me...
I agree, there were no riots when Obama won the election in 2008 and 2012. Lots of people disagreed, but went on with their lives and had to endure another 8 years. (in their minds) However, when the other candidate wins the other half the country erupts into protesting and riots. However, I don't think that Trump winning the election is the issue. (I hope not, because if so then they would be protesting a democratically elected president) Most democrats don't like Trump's controversial standing on sensitive subjects like illegal immigration and abortion. I'm fine with them protesting, but a line is crossed when they begin to smash Starbuck's windows, attack Trump supporters, and bully Trump's 10 year old son. My country is divided right now and I hope that our president will do something to solve it. I like how Trump is keeping his promises he made to his voters, but I would like to see him try to bring the country together instead of insulting them via twitter. "United we stand, divided we fall."
First of all, I have to follow something I said something go that pretty much said 'Whoever gives hope to Trump, voted Trump, supports Trump, ignores Trump, doesn't mind Trump, resigned to Trump should get a fuck you after every breakfast', even though I'll have to wait for your breakfast. Second, Trump winning the election is PART of the issue, because it shows that anyone waving a carrot for an unhappy population could win and that the system did not consider such a thing. Third, this whole situation grew unhappiness in the population which now needs a scapegoat: for Trump supporters it's Trump, for those who got it right but not quite it's breaking stuff until Trump supposedly kills himself. Fourth, riots are usually divided in two groups: those who revolt 'peacefully' often being ignored by their target, and those who break stuff hoping to have their target understand they don't like him but fail to realise that now their target appears as the good guy (Italy teaches that, taught that and will continue teaching it for a while). Fifth, Trump won't do shit to reunite 'his country' because he's too busy plotting villainous schemes. Sixth, you shouldn't like Trump keeping his promises because that means he's going to do every single shitty thing he said. Seventh, they have a right (which is righteous in its own way) to say fuck you to Trump, not to go around and smash stuff because fuck you Trump. Eighth, I should apologise to Cath for a possible flame war and tainting of her comment section with a point debunking filled with fuck yous.
6427581 Now completely ignoring the fact that I don't actually support Trump, you absolutely bypassed my point: Trump was legally elected, and now people want him to step down. What you basically said was that Trump being elected is a FLAW IN THE SYSTEM. But it isn't. People who voted for Trump might be imbeciles or racists in you mind, but they had their reasons. And thus, Trump was elected, FAIRLY. Now it might be that he promised a lot of things he isn't going to do, but that is unimportant here. What is important is that the people of a country decide who shall be their leader. Forcing one side to win without leaving room to give other sides consideration, such as these people are doing (They vote against Trump, but when he gets elected anyway, they break stuff until he resigns), you know who did that? The GDR. The GDR held fake elections, forcing one party into governing, whilst topping it off with calling themselves "German Democratic Republic". Protesting is fine. PEACEFUL protesting. Saying no to certain decisions the government wants to make. But simply not accepting the people's vote, and violating the law because of it... my friend, there is a word for that: terrorism.
I bypassed your point 'cause I was referring to Python. And it is a fault, shared by many free and 'advanced' countries: your people are stupid. They don't know what's good for them and the world, they have horrific mindsets, they take any carrot you throw them. Now, would you have a state run by competent people or by the dumbass mass's current hero? I mean, they even fail to realise the purely ''''''''''''''''''''economical''''''''''''''''''' reason for Trump's election, because Clinton had most votes.
What you are suggesting here my friend is a VERY dangerous mindset... "They don't know what is good for them"... What are you suggesting, only having certain people control the governing? Not having the government chosen by a country's people? Also, what is it with "our people" that are stupid apparently? There are stupid people everywhere. Does that mean you should take their rights? No. Now honestly, I don't care much for Trump. I don't like the behavior he promotes, but I still accept his legal authority. Because if we don't do that, how "advanced" are we really? If we just do what we want, bending the law to get things our way. Oh and 11389879 - The Suffragettes protested violently. And I do not respect that. The goal they wanted to achieve was a reasonably good one, but the methods they used to achieve it are not acceptable in my opinion. And what kind of argument is them being seen as heroes, if I may ask so? How does that undermine a point in any sort of way? That doesn't make the things they did any different... Also, "they are seen as heroes"? Really? Well I tell you what, there are people who see Adolf fucking Hitler as a hero. And no, I am NOT comparing Suffragettes to good ol' AH.
6427581 I hope that first part was a joke, because I don't think anyone can be stupid enough to hate upwards of 60 million people because their political views are different from yours. And remember lad, this is just politics! Trump's voters didn't elect Trump because they needed a "scapegoat." His voters were loosing their jobs, not being able to put food on the table, and not being able to afford healthcare due to the policies of the previous president. Obama called Hillary Clinton his 3rd term. They were not going to make the same mistake again! They were sick of a corrupt government that benefitted the wealthy, social/political elites, and special interests. The affects of this can be seen across the country; in the Rust Belt, abandoned factories and cities decay due to corrupt policies that stole their jobs and relocated them to other countries around the globe. Trump has already kept a campaign promise to have the U.S. leave the TPP (Trans-Pacific Partnership); which would have exported even more jobs overseas. This explains why the Rust Belt went red for Trump. In Arizona, Texas, and New Mexico, weak immigration policies from the last 2 presidents have allowed at least 10 million illegal immigrants to cross their borders and into the U.S. The consequences of this is that millions of American citizens have lost their jobs due to illegal immigrants. Trump has also kept his promise of creating a border wall to reduce this number. Lastly, Protestors have a right to protest anything they want, no matter how respectable or disreputable the cause. Thats what makes America a great place. It becomes rioting when property is damaged, college campuses are set aflame, and people with different political opinions get beaten up.
You might be looking at the upsides while ignoring a shitton of downsides. And you're also underestimating me: you didn't include a few 5-million people from Italy. Whatever, let's just finish since it will get us nowhere, I'll keep hating on Trump, you'll give him a chance, nothing will change...for me at least, I don't know about you.
My question is, why live in America if you don't like the results of an election? Your nation was built on democracy. If you don't like it, then leave.
