The garrison there prepares to defend the walls of the colony. Everyone moves within the walls, and the gates are closed and barricaded behind them. The ballistae are manned, as are the walls with archers and swordsmen in case the creatures somehow breach the defenses. Word is sent to their allies requesting aid in their defense, and all around the colony makeshift barricades and defensive positions are thrown together with whatever is at hand (carts and wagons, lumber, etc.). ((I don't believe it was established which colony the creatures attacked in the first place if you could clarify that for me. Also, I'd like a description of the creatures seeing as there is something like a zero percent chance that someone somewhere hasn't come into the possession of a corpse.))

I was never told which colony it was. They are ugly, short, bent, with nasty sloping foreheads. They are covered in war paint
