Hurt? Don't let them hurt themselves. Please. I assume they are very young. They have their entire lives in front of them. Years, upon years. Time is the greatest teacher. They will make a mistake on their own and learn from it, even if the same mistake happens over 10 times. But if its something like dumping milk all over themselves, then I'd let them do it.
