Must be nice to have such a unique last name. My last name is uncommon enough to make one smile, but not uncommon enough to be too unique. I'd hate to be named "Smith" or "Jones" though

It seems my last name belongs to certain nobles of portuguese origin, but I'll certainly have to do some giant research (because no one in muh family thought it was a good idea to keep track of your noble blood in case feudalism comes back).

I swear, Americans don't know any geography. Southern Netherlands.

That's pretty cool, Portugal can be a nice place. Do you have any remote idea of when you lot came over to Italy?

Shit gets lost for us after they went to Ellis Island. Damn capitalists changing names!

That's the point: it seems. It may be as such like it may not be at all, until I find valid proof and not some thing my father told me but can't remember. If they truly were portuguese nobles, that would trace their travel to Italy between 1500 and 1700.

Any of my family would have come through Canada.

It is, if you are smart and know stuff about Europe.

Hmm, interesting. 1500s to 1700s were a fairly turbulent time in Italy, I believe. Well, good luck with that all.

All I know is that my dad's family comes from Russia with some Polish ties. My name has something to do with Danzig. Then my mother's side has some Creek Indian (there's a reservation with the name of the family in like Alabama or Mississippi), Irish and maybe English. Mom's roots to 'Murica trace back to the original Jamestown. Other than that, I don't god damn know.

It's the same as if I said CC and expected you to now what Mexican state I was talking about

My dads side of the family is a mix of Choctaw Native American ((I can drive to the nearby reservation in 1 day)) and Irish immigrants who came during the US civil war. My mothers side of the family has some Caddo Native American blood, but mostly English and French. They came to America probably in the great migration. To avoid relocation, some Indians on my fathers side lied, saying they were half Mexican half Negro... so legally I am partly Hispanic, Black, white, and Native...
