I agree. I find it most disturbing that most people differ in how they behave and what they would say over the internet, compared to what they'd say to a person in real life. On the other hand, to be a bit rash; trolls like that are obliviously just looking to make you upset. The fact that you wrote this post now, shows they managed to.

It was in the chat (keyboard warriors) and I needed to see chat so my friend could tell me when his ult was.

It's a different type of troll though. I am absolutely fine when people get tilted or are just mean and troll in game or call you shit at the game or something, because it's easy to disassociate yourself since it's about the game, but this incident was with 2 random people talking about killing my grandparents.. like cmon, that's way worse and different and first time it's happened to me.

Not all the time. I've met great friends in overwatch and play with them a lot, usually the toxicity is just people getting mad over the game and then blaming someone and flaming them because they're tilted. This incident is way different. It's the first experience I've had where someone is attacking someone's family in this way in game. We weren't losing, we were winning. This all happened because I left for 1 min to say goodbye to people, and then this kind of disgusting behaviour came out of these two.

OW is a mixed bag, some days the game is so great it outweighs the toxicity of the other players you meet, but at other times... xD But I guess people look for cheap satisfaction at the expense of others. And to add onto another layer of cheapness they do it safely behind their computer screen while playing a game, probably not even having the guts to say stuff like that in real life. If it's any consolation, their cheap cowards, hitting below the belt so to speak, going for a cheap shot.

(btw High five for playing OW on Christmas day, did the same here, . But what rank in comp? I'm currently plat.)

Why not just text, and turn off chat?
