Adding further to first comment... There are indeed 2 genders. However, there are many gender identities. Moving onto intersex, I don't feel it's a gender. It is a mix of sex characteristics between both male and female - making them feel like they fit into neither. However, you can always tell the gender that these people were assigned to at birth, even though other sex characteristics may not add up.

Hi Xairr [symbol] Danny! Welcome to the Conversation! I'm curious about what you think the difference between gender and gender identities is. It's an interesting take I've never seen before. :) Also, can you elaborate on what you mean by "However, you can always tell the gender that these people were assigned to at birth"? An intersex person who was AFAB may identify as a man, and you can often not tell that someone is trans, even if they're born into the binary. Sorry for awkward phrasing, I'm tired. xD

Hi! I was scrolling through these comments and yours caught my attention. I'm curious about your views on marriage as legal matter as opposed to a religious matter. Anything you want to say, say it :)

I believe that if the church does not want gay marriage to be allowed, it shouldn't be made legal by the government. If there is a non-religious equivalent that gives gay couples all of the same benefits as marriage does for straight couples, then by all means. Just don't also call it marriage. If the church decides to allow it, then by all means. I'm not religious, and I find marriage as a religious concept to be completely unnecessary and a product of a time when women were objects, which is now a money sink for the modern couple (all for a meaningless ritual that essentially does nothing; divorce rates, cheating rates, etc). I'm also not gay, but I would consider myself asexual, so kinda a part of the LGBTQ+ community.

Those thoughts are considered sinful.

Islam goes against Christianity and Judaism, and everything else. They are the nonbelievers in the Prophet Muhammed.

LMAOOOO "I believe that if the church does not want gay marriage to be allowed, it shouldn't be made legal by the government" A) freedom of religion B) theres no "the" church C) Why the fuck should the people that are still practicing ancient roman beliefs be taken seriously?????????????????

16199346 A) Yeah? If you read my full comment you'd know that I think religious marriage is pointless anyways, and that legal "marriage" between gay couples should be allowed, just called something different (if that's what the church wants). B) Lol, I'm not into religion so I'm not to familiar with terminology and such, but a quick google found the solution to your confusion here: "the role of pope is the head of the Catholic Church". This is essentially what I meant, that the head figures of the Catholic Church should decide. C) Idk, I'm not religious, but then by that logic, why should any person celebrating ancient culture be taken seriously? "They all just simpletons, right? African tribes, Native Americans, a ton of people in Eastern Asia, etc. Why listen to what they have to say, they aren't even people cuz their beliefs are old and mine are new!" /s. Bottom of the line, I was very fair and inclusive in my statement and you decided to be a douche. Don't waste my time.

I follow Christianity. The Religion Islam goes against my Religion. Christians are killed for there Religion in the Middle East. However I do not hate people that believe in Islam.

Yeah, thoughts of engaging in or actually engaging in homosexual activities are both sinful. But suspecting you're gay isn't. Nor is being gay, since God made us as we are. Christians/Muslims accept it as it is and think "God knows best" since it was Him who made them gay and pray for to be set onto the right path because life is a test that one must either pass or fail. If one follows the ways of Satan (i.e. engages in homosexual activity), that's a fail - but passing God's great test carries equally great reward.

nah i read all of your comment and it's utterly ridiculous.\\ and why do you think the church should decide the law? yea I'm fine if they say their members can't get gay married or they dont want people doing it i dont give a fuck, but if you think they should interfere with the law that's ridiculous. So place, I'm inviting you to waste more of your time than you already have explaining to me

Why should the government override religion on something that isn't a human right?
G

"life liberty and the pursuit of happiness" - the gov. Love is happiness is it not? Thus love is a human right

You don't need marriage to have love... Getting married does essentially nothing in the modern age, except cost money. And if they want to celebrate a "life-long" relationship, then they can just have a party. It doesn't have to be a wedding. Like I said, I'm not religious so I don't really care (ie, I don't protest gay people getting married, these are just person thoughts on the matter). And if I was the pope, I would say that gay marriage should be allowed, and would hope that it would be "legalized" in all Christian nations. But until that happens, I feel as though governments should stay out of it. I believe religion and government should interact as infrequently as possible. By the way, if my pursuit of happiness was to force-feed Muslims pork, should it be legalized?

Thank you! I'm.of the belief that everyone is assigned one gender at birth and this is their gender to stay. However, one may choose to identify as something else and this is where the idea of gender being different from gender identity comes in. Your birth gender can never change - but how you choose to have others view you can: your identity. I'm saying in most cases intersex people naturally portray to you one gender - male or female. Regardless of their sex characteristics.

Interesting view. I think something similar to you, but instead of thinking their assigned "gender" is a gender, that's what I call birth sex. It's important to know and understand your birth sex, since it's important for doctors, etc. Some intersex people do identify as purely a binary gender, but it's important to remember it may not be the same as their AGAB, just like any other person.
