I'm 60% sure this is misinformation. I believe he meant to reply to a reply, but accidentally replied to OP (himself)

I agree, let's give him the benefit of the doubt here.

Eh Jimmy is a narcissist and anyone who announces themselves donating to charity isn't doing it out of the good of their hearts but for publicity. Now, the people who donate, and don't tell everyone they know on the other hand most likely aren't doing it for publicity.

Let's be honest here whether he replied to himself or not he's a self-centered narcissist, not to say that most famous people aren't narcissists. Anyway, he's gloating that he donated to a charity which not only ruins the word charity but is completely stupid. He wants people to praise him in order to boost his ego higher than it already is. Plus, his content is all shit he stole from other people but mostly YouTube.

Also, I want to make a philosophical comment or two. A. Is there such thing as doing something out of the goodness of your heart, or is it a way to get that dopamine spike you get when you help others. Dopamine is pleasure for us and us only. B. Does it matter if you do something good and also make it good for yourself? If you give a homeless woman one million dollars, is that money worth anything less if I make a post about "Helped a woman I found on the streets. Feels good :)"

Yeah but there's a HUGE difference and one of them is there's an unspoken "rule" where the president has to make what they do open to the public. I'm not saying he's not a narcissist, the U.S's last 3 presidents are narcissists and yes Obama was a narcissist. Was he as bad as a narcissist as Trump? No. Now I want you to answer why this suddenly turned to talking about Donald Trump? As far as I know Jimmy being a narcissist has no relation with Trump so it was totally random.

A. Dopamine is also present during anger so no I wouldn't call it a pleasure though a small amount is good. As for the main part of your question I do believe there's good people who don't think of themselves most of the time. Human beings are selfish by nature but not all types of selfishness are the same. Some people are socially selfish(for example: attention lovers), Materialistically Selfish(Money, Food, etc), Sexually Selfish(most people in society are selfish this way as they don't want to share their wife/husband/boyfriend/girlfriend), etc

B. Yeah it does since 1) Whilst you're helping someone it's only so you gain something in return. 2) You're using it in order to brag which is basically saying "I'm such a nice person, praise me!!" and that you're superior over others. 3) Let's be honest here. What reason is the woman homeless? Is it because she was too lazy to get a job? Did she do drugs? How long will that 1 million dollars last her once taxes come in? How much debt will she be in once that 1 million dollars is used up? If she doesn't find a job after that how long will it take for her to be back to being homeless. That's the exact reason I've always believed people should donate food, shoes, and other necessities instead of money to the homeless. If you give a homeless person or any person that doesn't make close to a million dollars, you're setting them up for debt due to taxes.

Response to comment 1a: Sorry, I can rarely resist taking a shot at Trump, especially when we're on this wall. That's entirely on me. But you're incorrect when you say it's unrelated: This whole tweet happened because of the President's actions. Response to comment 2a: Dopamine is present during anger, that's true. But science still regards it as a "pleasure" chemical. The reason it's present in anger has more to do with the adrenaline spike and being ready to defend yourself (thanks evolution.) rather than being directly associated with the negative emotion. (Just FYI, I have yet to form an opinion on this subject, though I'm leaning towards most people are selfish. I'm just opposing you for discussions' sake.) Response to 3a: Part one: Upon rereading the tweet, he posted this out of snark and jest. He said he'd be donating in Trump's name, meaning he *faked Trump taking credit* It's a massive joke, and a protest. I had a *woosh* moment there, but now I get it. That's on me. Snark against someone has no protest power unless it's public. That's why it's a protest. Maybe one of us should do some research and try to find donations he didn't advertise, just to see. Part two: It can be good to advertise what you do. Say I love Oprah. I have no opinion on Oprah, in fact I know alarmingly little about her, she's an example. Say she donates some money to MyExampleCharity. If I consider her a great person or something like that, I might be inspired by her., and donate my self. Part Three: You're debating my example. You know what I mean.

Imagine the world without charity or imagine it without donations.

That would be a horrible world where the generous are trodden upon by the selfish, where causes who need more than one can provide are doomed to fail.

At least Jimmy Fallon started off neutral and fair until NBC forced him to turn into a (halfheartedly so) anti-Trump propagandist.

Even though most donate for tax breaks, at least they do it. Even if they don’t necessarily care as much as they should.
