It's not baby yoda! It's just the same species as him. It's WAY too young to become yoda judging by how fast he ages in the movies/shows.

Well to be fair, both Canon and Legends have referred to the species as "Yoda's Species". Lucas didn't really want there to be a whole species like Yoda, so the closest answer we've actually gotten was George saying that "Yoda is the Bastard Child of Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy"...which make the one or two Muppets/Star Wars Crossovers more Awkward now that I think about it...

What Lucas said may be valid, but it contradicts the existence of Yaddle.

He did eventually allow other members of the species to exist, such as Yaddle and the handful in SWTOR, but he still refused to actually name the species, going through drastic measures such as demanding an entire set of one of the Star Wars TCGs to be pulped as it implied a name for the species.

Not yoda's baby? Are we sure Yoda was a mammal and did not lay eggs? In GoT at the beginning everyone believed the drakken eggs were dead eggs - but Daenerys had 3 living flying flamethrowes. So: was Yoda a mammal?

To be fair, he had hair.
