Chapter I: A journey to the Chasm
*rough sketches are put throughout the book*
"Arrows lem!"
"WHAT?"
"JUST RUN"
We raced up the stairs, arrows hitting just below our feet. Suddenly, they stopped. I turned in wonder and saw Goblins chasing us, chanting their war cry, eager to get Dwarven blood on their hands. Through the tunnels we went, hearing the echoes of Goblins voices as if they were next to us. After a trek, we reached the Chasm. We had descended a small way's down when we heard voices.
"Lem, shut up."
"What?"
"I hear them."
Grabbing our pickaxes we kept our heads low and went through the Chasm. The lava produced a glow unlike any other, casting bright light upon our faces. I had seen it, with the voices getting louder time was running out, but I hit the button and we ran in.We went through the maze with ease but as we reached a spiral staircase, we heard it. The sound of a piston door opening. They had found us.
"It is a matter of time before they do reach us, but we must sprint Lem"
"Then let it be done."
Up and up we went, I slumped down, the world spinning before me.
"Go lem! I'll hold them"
"No! Come on!"
Though dizzy, I continued running. I saw surface light. But the voices grow louder.
