I have seen many reports on Advertisers, some that repeat very similar actions then others. They serve their ban or go on another account and repeat the spamming, only receiving minimal punishments for their actions.

That is why I have come up with this idea - Since it is obvious that most advertisers do not care or want to play, and only re-join to repeat it, a larger punishment should be in hand. Some servers even have "advertiser" ranks, that are for people who spam servers to get people on. It is really idiotic, and they aren't punished accordingly.

A advertiser will be given a fair ban, 30 days, on the first punishment. He should be banned from 1 to 2 months, and if he appeals (which proves he cares) his punishment will be shortened accordingly.

Then, if the same server address some up again, the player who advertised will be given a Permanent Ban; we dont need to be disrupted by the same server. They have made it obvious they do not want to be here, only to advertise.

Then, both players, will be permanently banned. Anyone also advertising the server will serve the same punishment as well.

I hope you guys take the seriously, advertisers are a very big issue, and the command /ignore has not been added yet. Please consider this.

After an advertiser is banned, they usually wouldn't spend the time to get on an alt. There are a lot of different servers to go on.

But, as that guy has proved, many will come here to advertise. Also, other players on that server might advertise as well, and when unbanned will repeat. Anyone with common sense knows that spamming server ips is punishable, and a 1 month ban isnt enough for repeat-offenders.

I do see your point, though, there is many other servers to advertise on. though preventing repeat offenders is a very helpful solution to that cause.

True, most advertisers would likely go to a different server. HOWEVER, what if there was a server that was a siege or LoTR related server? What if they saw us as a road block to them gaining success? Wouldn't they have their advertisers come as often as they can? I don't see why we shouldn't just ban advertisers permanently, since they obviously don't want to play.

Oh, and maybe there is some kind of revenge we can do if a server COORDINATES or sends advertisers that are PAYED to advertise? Advertising back on their server is kind of lowering to their level, but is there any other ways?

Also, are these the same advertisers we had a while ago? I did ask the owner on his server, and he promised not to advertise again. He obviously isn't trustworthy.

Yah, that would be great! How about the ones that appeal and prove that they care about E. W. get a minor punishment reduction, (AKA perm to 1 or 2 weeks.)

Actually, we directly ban advertisers permanently, except Arak, he seems to like to ban advertisers for 30 days. Then he should see it as a personal suggestion, because I already ban advertisers permanently. (I follow Only's punishments)

Btw, if you see the same server pop up multiple times, it's probably because it's either an alt or another person from that server. (Some members go far to proof their dedication to the server >.>)


Now, I'll lock this thread, if you see Arak banning a person for 30 days again, you should simply notify him and not directly make a thread aiming for the whole staff team :3
