Concerning rules

The rules say that racism is not allowed. However aren't elves supposed to be racist towards dwarves? and gondor should be racist against mordor?

Is in-character racism allowed?

I call dwarves squishy little man-rats. And threaten to run the streets red with the blood of Gondorians. So, I guess that is ok.

That's Okay, we don't want people to use RL-Racism like calling people n*gg*r and saying all black people s*ck.

I realise that racism is not allowed but is it in any way prevented? What if theres no staff on and someone being racist, I know chat mod didn't work out great for the server but maybe ban some words, so if someone typed in "n*gg*r" it would appear blank or say something like "Ponies" instead, i've seen this plugin on other servers to prevent rude language.

Sorry about this post going a bit off topic, I just had to mention it.

We just need more staff to fix that, auto systems are way too risky.

I have expirence with that too, the space between letters, the underscores, there are many ways to get around a no-swear plugin.

one server i was on you couldn't type "class" because of the a .s .s in it. any word with that phrase and other swear words in them gave you a warning. was a real pain auto plugins are not the best idea

Maybe have a plugin which allows people to use /report [player] [reason].
And when five or more people have reported the player an admin will be notified and will punish the player.
That way people wont have to go onto the forums and report them. As most people are too lazy to do that.

i agree with stormshooter123 that the rude words should change to something completly diffrent like maybe tomato or car or something like that

if some one starts swearing really bad i just say " (player) how many words do you know that are not insults" either they make a fool of themselves by swearing at me or just shut up (last time the guy replied with "um.....your face")

but yah a plugin that changes swear words would be nice

You could put a plugin that changes words you want to other words. It would require less staff to be on, because it would supposedly mute and/or kick after someone uses a word like that. Although most plugins do not hold that kind of feature, It may be possible to modify a plugin to do that. Or just a plugin to kick somebody that swears would be nice.

Meh, there's a reason the reporting forums are here. That way, you can actually post your proof. You can't exactly put a screenshot in the actual game. :undecided:

I want to make a final answer. There is a clear difference between roll play and racism. If anyone believes (and has proof) that someone has been racist they are to immediately report on the website. The majority of time this is not needed because a member of staff is just about always on. The staff are able to handle with this as soon as it appears so i doubt this post needs further discussion.

A plugin to change rude / racist words is an option but could create spam. I've seen on servers where swear words are replaced with bright red ' * ' and people start spamming with them. If rude words were to be changed into nicer words like ' ponies ' instead of ' n*gg*r ' the chat could end up in senseless violence and admins wouldn't know who is being rude or not. Another thing about these plugins is that they can easily be deceived. E.g. Instead of players typing ' f*ck you ' they can easily say ' f * c k you '

Personally I think this matter is unnecessary and should be closed
