Crossbow Class (Revamped and not unskilled)

Crossbow and how it will function:

Kit:

Bow (Power 2): Shoots arrows which follow a normal arrow trajectory and you draw like a normal bow (rather than the old crossbow one which removed any skill the class would of had to play and also gives counterplay to this class). Takes 6 seconds to reload which is done by punching with the bow and you gain slowness 1 during this.

Iron sword: Functions as any other iron sword would.

Armour: Iron chestplate + Iron boots (Same armor as shieldman).

This class would play as a front line ranged class which could switch to melee to kill players after they have been softened up their crossbow, which makes this class both good for attackers and defenders. The only class which you could compare to this one would be spearman, spearman would be stronger for closer engagements due to higher armor and a instant spear throw as oppose to drawing a bow and shooting which an enemy could see and react to.

Potential Counter classes to crossbow:

Shieldman, as it blocks arrows and as same melee potential.

Spearman, as they are straight up stronger at closer ranged engagements.

Potential classes crossbow could counter:

Archer, as the crossbow could deal very high damage using the bow and then execute with sword. Also could fight archers at same range and use cover to account for the reload weakness.

Any low armor targets: Crossbow with power 2 would deal a significant portion of an enemies health allow you to possibly finish them off using 1 critical hit with the sword.
 
its not logical that you will be able to reload a cross bow while attacking other players with the iron sword.
 
yet, the class have a small sence of logic, plus its like some sort of spearman that have infinate amount of spears
 
The difference being that the crossbow has to draw the bow allowing the enemy to see the bow being drawn and how spearman is far stronger in a melee fight due to the spearman having more armor and a instant throwable projectile.
 
When you haven´t suggested a camping buff or class for 5 minutes.

This is supposed to be a mid - close range ranged class which can fight at close quarters since archer sucks for attackers and this class would even out the team imbalances between classes. This would fight archers from 10 blocks or so and would be a pretty good counter to them such as defense archers.

WHat makes it a class for shorter range? Is it the reload time? Cause i certainly do not wanna get up close against people if i have that.
 
Personally, I believe a crossbow should be more focused on countering heavily armoured units. I think the base damage should be reduced, but half of the remaining damage should ignore armour.

It has an iron sword and same armor as shieldman. A combo of the bow plus melee would be pretty dangerous allowing for burst damage. With a reload time of 5s, killing targets by camping would be pretty difficult since the arrows mechanics are the same as normal archer meaning the targets could easily dodge the arrows from longer ranges. Not only this camping would not be that effective since they can close the gap against you, and you are unable to shoot which is why archer would be superior for camping with. Also when reloading you have slowness I, allowing people to chase you down if you tried to kite continuously with crossbow.

As for the reasons why I would like this to be added; attackers lack any good ranged class since archer is awful for offense. Also there is only 2 ranged classes in the game one of which is never used compared to all of the different melee classes. There should be more ranged options and unique ranged options in my opinion allowing the player to refine their ranged playstyle to how they like to play while retaining a balanced game.

Did you mention the arrow psysics being different? YOu talk about closing gap and meleeing campers, but wont this kit make you BETTER prepared for those situations? You´re stronger than an archer in melee combat, but it doesnt necessarily mean you have to get close to the melee classes.[/quote]

Did you mention the arrow psysics being different? YOu talk about closing gap and meleeing campers, but wont this kit make you BETTER prepared for those situations? You´re stronger than an archer in melee combat, but it doesnt necessarily mean you have to get close to the melee classes.[/quote]

So. You are telling me, that crossbow a class with 5s reload is better at camping than archer, which I can shoot 3204732 arrows in 5 seconds as oppose to the crossbow who can shoot 1? As for arrow physics, I literally stated it works just like normal archer does.[/quote]

If i wanted to fight closely i would play a melee only class or spearman, The crossbow is good for camping if you can hit your arrows, the reload speed wont kill you, only slow you down.[/quote]
