Getting temporarily banned for spamming commands?

I just would like to know getting kicked for spamming commands is a real thing or just a glitch that is happening to my minecraft client or my connection. Does anybody have any idea what it means to get temporarily banned for spawmming commands means? Any info would be helpful. Thank you.

Yes, it's real, and as far as I have experienced this, it's only 1 minute long.

Some guys get banned permanently for stating their opinions. I wouldn't believe that being disconnected for a minute by spamming commands is an honorable concern

Yeah, that may happen because sometimes spammers overload poor old console sometimes.

Yeah, you may get temporary banned if you spam commands. Seems like I need to watch out with my macros then
