/Ignore request

Today we had a a spam advertiser come on this afternoon and ruined our day. Now don't get me wrong we have had several spammers that just left and we got on with our lives. I just got pissed off today because this one spammer I seen today wouldn't stop spamming. So to cut to the point, we really would appreciate a /ignore command.

This has been suggested quite a few times before, tim said on this thread why he won't add it.

Apart from the fact that /ignore is a command done by Essentials, not made by me. I can't alter Essentials' code, and having to write an ignore event myself requires a lot of changes to the current chat system.

Also, you said this'd fix having to ban people? So we shouldn't ban someone when he advertises if people ignore him?
This will only stop people from reporting chat rule breakers, and will thus make people think breaking those chat rules are Ok.

We don't need to stop people from hearing those messages. We need people to stop breaking chat rules.
