New Discovery

Well, I was reading my Tolkien dictionary and I made this odd discovery about Gothmog. Here is what it said. Gothmog: Balrog of Angband. Mightiest of Morgoth's lieutenants, Gothmog, Lord of Balrogs, was a Maia spirit of fire in his origin. Along with the other Balrogs, he revolted with Morgoth against the Valar and made war on them and the Elves. At his master's bidding he slew High King Feanor before the gates of Angband. Throughout the Wars of Beleriand, Gothmog wreaked terrible vengeance with his whips of fire (remember, he is a Balrog^) and his black axe. During the Battle of Unnumbered Tears he slew Fingon and captured Hurin In the year 511 of the first Age he successfully led the forces of darkness against Gondolin. Leading the Balrog host, the Orc and Dragon legions, and surrounded by his Body-Guard of Trolls, Gothmog overwhelmed the defenders of the last Noldor kingdom. During the sack of the city itself, Gothmog slew and was slain by the Noldor Elf Ecthelion, the high captain of Gondolin. Wow! That was a lot of things to copy out of my book! Well, that's it! If you want more facts, just tell me below.

No, Gothmog the Orc was not Jackson's invention alone. Gothmog was the name of the orc that commanded the armies at Gondor. Tolkien said little about him, though. It is to be assumed that he was named after the ancient Balrog because, as the Balrog Gothmog was for Morgoth, he was one of the chief commanders of Sauron's armies.
However, funny story about how they made him visually.
Peter Jackson was known for saying "More."
More disgusting, more excess in everything, more weapons, more guys, etc.
So, they decided to finally satisfy him and make him say less. They just stuck lumps of flesh all over to make Gothmog. And you know what Jackson said?
Just about right.

Now I have a similar thought of the two
Morgoth made gothmog (1) lord of balrogs
Sauron made gothmog (2) Orc command
They both attacked a city. (Balrog attacked gondolin)
Both got killed in the conflict. But the balrog fought in the rain against a city with a moat so he would of died
The Orc commander was slain by one of three armies (gondor rohan undead)
