Noob alert

Looking at joining the server but am struggling to find how i go about setting up my client and whether there is a generic one i need other than the technic or bog standard minecraft launcher.

Any help would be appreciated

what? go to minecraft.net and download the launcher, open it and it will download the version that you select. If you want just delete your minecraft folder (keep saves, resource packs, and servers txt document) Also what computer do you have?
