[SIEGE] Re-thinking Minas Tirith.

For a while, I have been thinking of possible ideas that might re-balance Minas Tirith after the removal of Commander, uncapping flags, and many other things that once supported Gondor. With the exception of Citadel Guard, Gondorian classes need a buff/change. The reason? Trolls and archers dominate the game. I will explain more down below.

Some earlier threads that agree with my statements:

And many others, that have asked and waited patiently for a balancing. I understand that Gondor has a slightly better chance with the arrival of a nerfed citadel guard, though having 1 strong class at the last flag, that isn't even defended, is not a game changing idea. That is why I am trying to make ideas that give gondor a chance.

IDEA # 1

As Mr_cookiesmurf has also suggested, overwhelming amounts of trolls and archers dominate the game, easily capturing and destroying resistance and their path. I personally think Troll and Archer is fine, along with cookie, though we both agree that the primary issue is the swordsman major weaknesses. That is why, we both have come to the conclusion that giving the swordsman 1 or 2 spears, to help remove the annoyance of archers and trolls, (that are nearly impossible to kill in large masses) Maybe testing it out, like seeing what happens. It just seems to me that a major difference wouldn't be shown, though an improvement it will be.

This idea is lore supported, and fits the pvp>lore thing as well, representing both lore and pvp balance into a perfect sense of natural balance. I am hoping that this addition to the weak gondor defenses is added.

IDEA # 2

After the addition of spears, the spearmen class would be considered rather useless. That is why I am respectfully suggesting that spearmen would be a point class, and resemble the statistics of commander rather closely. I have thought up of a idea that might fit well, considering it is not too powerful, though is unique and if played right could make a difference in the game. This class would be equipped with a long pike, much like the ones used in Helms Deep for pikeman.

If you guys watched the movie, or read the book, they where shown as long weapons designed to keep the enemy back from a distance, though lacked significant damage. This class would be more like a heavy, though using a pike to repel enemies from a distance. It would have the same armor as spearmen does now, though additional slowness and resistance would be added to replicate the origins of the class. Some weaponry I am suggesting is a long pike, exactly like the Uruk-Hai's. Additional spears and swords could be added, though I believe that a pike is enough.

This is the layout:
Iron Chestplate
Chain Leggings
Leather Boots
Pike (sharp 3 or 4 with vote, knockback 1)
Resistance and Slowness
Iron Sword or 2 spears

IDEA #3

This might make the game a little harder for Mordor, so adding a bit more gametime to allow more pushing time might be an option. Adding Orc Chieftan to Minas Tirith might be another, though lets see first if Mordor needs these buffs in the first place. Nazguls might be at a disadvantage with the spears, though considering they pack a nasty punch (averaging 3 damage) slightly buffing its armor might be an option.

Basically, what I am asking for is that Gondorian classes are buffed to give gondor a chance for once. Thanks for reading!

Yeah, the thing I've seen with Minas Tirith is that Mordor butchers Gondor pretty well, but they still don't make it to the later flags to well. They most often get stuck at the odd numbered gates, 1, 3, and 5. After all, they have about 8 mins to capture each flag. Extened time would be cool, or the suggestion Andrew gave a while ago about Gondor retreating from the flags after a certain time period, like on Helms.

Mordor never wins when I play. Never. They often play the whole game at main gate. If they capture it. They may be able to take 2nd. But mordor needs to capture 6 heavily guarded flags with gates in 50 mins.
