The quiet drip of water on stone sounded from the surrounding area, echoing through the quiet halls of Old. He stood before the empty table, before him, draped in cloaks and masked in cloth. Across from him, sitting at the other end of the table, the other man was a mere shadow. Between them was a single torch, illuminating the quartz walls and tattered banners that surrounded them.
"One last Oath to fill."
He muttered quietly. The man on the other side simply nodded. His figure flickered, once a shadow, once a man. Yet the crown upon his head stayed the same, silver lining upon silver hair.
"Farewell, old friend. Your chosen Lord shall lead us to greatness."
Again they nodded. Yet around the two the torches began to relight, filling the halls with a dazzling light. Water begin to storm back down the falls, adding a sound of rolling water and light, spreading under the bridges around. The banners above them unflurled, and the great tree behind him illuminated. The Shadow, Master of Rivendell, Lord of the Bards, Captain of the Royal Guard, Spearman of Gondor, and Cupbearer of the King, slowly flicked away, until a new man sat in his place.
"Welcome back, Cool_col, Lord of the Bards."
((In memorial to Beep. A new challenger has arrived, to threaten your lore! We shall not stand for this!))
