Training Server

Hello, I was wondering about the struggles that starting players have on the server.
They start playing, not knowing what kit to use, dying a lot, and pre-destroying their KD, so I wondered, maybe we should give them the chance to get to know all the classes and maps, on a side-server, or a different map.
Then they can learn how to fight with the classes, learn to capture, etc. Also, they get to use the donor-kits, so that they know what they buy, nobody likes an unsatisfied buyer. I know of course, that players can practice their skills, and get their KD back up once that they are better, but it sucks when you start with 10 kills and 231 deaths.

How would I do it:
We have a map/server which has a parkour with/out checkpoints, we have a armor-stand-doll-shooting range, we have smaller versions of the maps, and some new maps. The players can choose any class they want, but they have to belong with a map (You can't pick Haradrim to fight in Moria). They there can be staff online to teach them how to fight (or just pro-players). The players can quit any time, have no duty to be there, and can graduate (just for fun).

I hope that you people enjoyed reading this, if it is not going to happen, thats ok for me,
Sincerely,
Xergarok

The basic idea sounds fine but i highly doubt it is going to be realised. No pro-pvpers would want to spare their time teaching. If you think im wrong then think yourself: new player joins and asks for help. You are there fighting on with great killstreak and other stuff - the round is fun. Would you really forget and ave your Fun successful game to help a random person you see for the first time? Anyways, i agree with the fact "10 kills and 231 deaths" but i think we'd need smth else.

I feel like more new players would just rally to this server to 1. Avoid the more powerful and experienced players entirely. 2. 'Free' donor classes i.e This could be abused easily without refinement.
Tutorial on the other hand could be a good idea for sure, basic tests and such but doing all of this simply because starting with 10 kills and 231 deaths is annoying doesn't sound too rock solid to me (if you get what I mean). The best way to get better is by fighting players better than you. Making strategies, methods, etc. etc.
And on a side-note the server is still rather small for an idea like this. A simple tutorial of sorts would be a better fit for the time being until the server grows more and this idea gains momentum. -B

I think you have mistaken the thing with donor-classes. The starters do not get to use the donor-classes in-game, if this would still be an option (I know its rejected xD), they would not get to fight the real games with donor-classes of course, and indeed, people won't be willing to spend time to train these players, still, thank you for the feedback.

Perhaps 960266 can add new rank, helper.
The helpers will help new players to get throw their first time in EW.
(Maybe give them some basic commands like time set so they could help not only the new players(

Oh actually great idea!

I can't even consider the existence of someone who just can't realise stuff on their own and that can't read the context. There's two signs saying [Gondor] and [Orcs]. What should I do? Interact with them? Nah, I'm too stupid.
If such people exist, they could (A) ask for help like anyone else or (B) require a simple tutorial the first time they join or even © have a guide book slapped right in their hands.

When most of the players join they are too shy to ask for help or being ignored. For some of them it's their first or second server (mostly after minplex) so they don't know how the sign system work.
Nobody likes reading and if you join siege server you want to get in the fight as soon as possible.
After they do join and pick a class it is not very clear that they need to right click a wool and I highly doubt that they will find the specific wool (let's not forget about the whole light wool for flags under capture thing)
Classes like spearman, bone breaker and archers might be difficult due to the fact that all of them have different mechanic.
The tutorial thing might be a great idea, players did suggest this already and it seems the staff team ignored it.

I like reading.

Btw, I don't really think that bone breaker and archer are gonna be difficult mainly because archer have the basic bow mechanic which pretty much everyone can figure out, while bone breaker is the exact same as other melee classes, just different potion effects and armor

Not really, the fact that arrows are dealing less damage in close range can cause some noobs to get mad or call others hackers. Because the staff made enchants invisible noobs won't realize that they have kb on their weapons. The Spears are still confusing and I've seen many noobs fighting with them like they were sword or switching between spear and sword coz they didn't realize that they can use this on their second hand.
There are still many confusing class such as the engineer on moria, torcher if it will be added, hardarian archer, constructurer and more.
As well as confusing things such as gate bashing, windless using, flag capturing, fighting donor classes and placing blocks on the map.

Ok, as I see it now, I think indeed a server for this is a big step, and not really necessary, I do actually like the idea of Helper, not that its up to me, and I think this could be a gray help. As for the other discussion points: Indeed, not all players know the sign system and the spear-system (Its not commonly used system). I think there is no need to continue posting in this thread, because it is denied. If someone wants to post for Helper, you are free to do so.
Thank you for being helpful in this thread.
