This suggestion has been accepted for implementation and will be added in a future update.
We've historically ALWAYS had bad issues with viaversion, the plugin that allows you to join on newer versions while maintaining an older one. We made a decision to not do that again.
Our next update is likely still going to be on 1.21.11 but right after that, we will work on bringing the server to the latest MC version.
