Smh. Why is it when people get passionate about something or angry about something in politics, they resort of violence? I swear MLK and Ghandi are taught in schools right now. Because things like this and the police murders by Black Lives Matter are seriously counterproductive, history shows, logic shows.

True. They have the right to free speech and reasonable protesting without breaking any laws. I think these protests will be non-violent and nothing like the hateful organization Black Lives Matter.

Yea when there was a democratic pres for 8 years you don't see republicans rioting, granted Trump is sort of a different situation but still..

I am aware, and there is something very wrong in it still. Criticism will continue, terminology and system will remain. My stance remains we should abandon the electoral college, period. Hold a one day primary, most votes, wins. The logic the Founding Fathers had for the electoral system was: We don't trust ordinary citizens to decide office. ^This logic is outdated, we should update accordingly.

The logic behind the Electoral voting system was to give the people power to elect representatives to make decisions for them. This was because while the Founding Fathers wanted the citizens to hold the power, they did not want a direct democracy. This was because citizens do not know issues as well as representatives elected specifically for understanding them. I don't think the system is outdated. There are still a lot of dumb, misguided voters out there. The Electoral voting system insures that the decisions of the people are balanced by logic and common sense.

Some would have certainly protested but not on the scale of Hillary's. Geographically, Trump supporters willing to protest are at a disadvantage because most of them live in rural areas unlike democratic supporters which are highly concentrated in urban cities. This makes it possible for thousands of protesters to amass nationwide in major cities like Los Angeles and Philadelphia while Trump supporters simply are at a geographic disadvantage.
