The land they sneaked through was desert, an there's only a few hundred of them, actually, only around 25 because most died. And if you were paying attention, you would notice the dispute territory was given to you

great but you did forget about the desert rangers and the fact that most of the water sourse are hidden or placed inside villages wich got rainforse and order to take as prisinors every enemy they find
