Not to be harsh to Disney (They have made some amazing films in the past) I just don't think they are doing a good job capturing the main aspect of Star Wars. I understand that Disney is trying to reach out to new audiences such as a modern, younger generation, but that doesn't mean that they should throw away everything that star wars had before... A lot of fans, including my self, do not want the entire franchise to be based around new main characters and planets etc (Not saying some new characters and locations are bad, they're refreshing to the series), we want a continued plot like the other movies had. I am not saying the prequels were the best films ever, but at least they followed a sensible story arch that fed into the Original Trilogy, the new films (Except Rogue One) really don't do it for me.
