As the attackers come rush in in, Duneshifters and it messengers quickly and secretly run ahead to tell Run and Israel's colonies of what happened and then word will come to the Sultan. Meanwhile, the defenders rain Greek Fire down on the attackers.

Those messengers who were sent out to request reinforcements return to find the Qariri colony swarming with creatures and Muscovite soldiers with Qariri dead lying all about and come to a pretty immediate conclusion. Before they can be spotted, they set off to tell their other allies (meaning not Muscovy and its allies) of this development and send word to the Sultan. They do so with upmost caution, especially those Duneshifters among them who would move out like a gentle breeze. Several of the Duneshifters immediately board ships back to Qarir, using large amounts of gold to buy completely private ships captained by no-questions-asked non-Muscovites.
