Yes they did dipshit, Theres a thing called running, and jumping, and rolling, and stopping, and guarding, and a bunch of other stuff that would let them in, just because its fortified doesn't mean no one can get in dumbass. These men have hand held explosives, better equipment, speed, more training, and have been doing this stuff all there life we got in simple as that now you have explosions going off and elite men whom were born for this and are extremely trained versus just elite men

The archers are very high up. The hwachas are rockets and are basically explosive MGs. You can't win. They also have a loud whistling which causes a psychological effect. Your men would also be burned to death by Greek Fire.
