I don't think the books contain any spoilers. In any case, even if they do, they're worth it; I found them to make much more sense than the show wherever one differed from the other, and just the quality of writing is ridiculously good, and compensates for whatever spoilers you might've gotten from the series.

Other than GoT i've watched The walking dead and Vikings, both of them are great. I don't know what it costs but i'm very pleased.
