Today is my first day in university... I feel nothing (though it's five in the morning so maybe it's just that).

I'm not gonna be a pleb and make a goodbye post. If I leave, I'll do so gradually and quietly. But I probably won't leave; my activity will just diminish. Have a good one, and enjoy Blackflames for me...

I may return, but I'm starting college soon, so idk if I'd be able to handle three rp's on top of that...

Well people, give or take a few minutes, I was born precisely eighteen years ago today. Been a pleasure "knowing you" for the last 5 or so.

At the time, you would be exactly 6,574 days old, which equals 567,993,600 seconds. And if we divide that by 31,557,600 seconds, which is the exact length of an actual year, then that's the result. But as we concluded a few weeks ago; no calendar year is actually one year long.

It all makes sense now... Me, a Gemini, my brother, a Scorpio... Is what I would say if I believed in astrology. But that article's still on point.
One event, or rather, an umbrella of related events dominated the Puerto Rican news today. Perchance you might've heard of it, but it's unlikely that you heard a very in-depth discussion about. Don't worry, I'll only bring you the basics.

There was a nationwide strike today. It was called to protest pretty much everything my government and that of the U.S. has done to us since 2016 and even before, but particularly the archaic labor reforms being considered, the educational reform that will pave the way for the sale of the public school system, and several austerity measures imposed on us by the governing junta that will likely bury us in even greater poverty.

The strike was good, despite what you may hear. Tens of thousands of people went to protest at our capital city (as well as other major ones), and everything was done in a very peaceful manner. Our points would've had an impact if it'd stopped there.

However, it did not. In the early afternoon, a group of a couple hundred university students and more insurgent people began stoning the policemen that were blocking the way to the financial heart of the island, a strip of road called the Golden Mile or La Milla de Oro. This stopped after a few minutes, but tensions were high. Negotiations began with the police to let the protestors march through the Golden Mile. Everything seemed to be leading to a peaceful resolution, and the authorities let everyone understand that they would be withdrawing within a few minutes. Then, suddenly, they began shooting canisters of tear gas and beating the people with batons. They started arresting protestors, and chased some for 2.6 kilometers, and into their homes, which they broke into without a court order.

It infuriates me that the police always choose the establishment over their fellow countrymen. All right, I get it, they were throwing stones at them, but why not arrest them there and then? And yes, they have a job to do, I know, but the junta isn't sparing them either. Moreover, it's irascible that our point should get drowned out by some incidents at the end. The strike was otherwise very successful. But no one will cover that now, no; they'll talk about the violence and ignore the reasons we went on strike in the first place.

Aha well in the UK we have the idea of consensual policing. Which is why most officers don't have guns. They police us because we want them to police us, and as such they don't need guns (that's the theory). It all comes from the English (later British) mistrust of government. We had the first police force in the world, and that was extremely radical and contentious at the time. The only way it could be implemented was through public agreement to extend the notion of the "night watchman". This is also why the Police were so reluctant in 2010 to behave violently with rioters. Yeah they were rioting, but no way would it have seemed appropriate to even use water cannon (which is illegal here)

the US has alot of goals
All right power came back to me at 2 AM, yay.

Nonetheless, while we were dark, the Federal Courts ruled in favor (obviously) of the junta imposed on us by Congress, supporting the austerity measures they proposed. What does this mean for us?
-between 5 and 25% less funds for retired public employees
-a substantial reduction in the budget for our public universities, while increasing tuition dramatically
-no more aid for the unemployed
-50% less holidays for all employees
-the sale of public assets to private enterprises
-a large reduction in the budget for the Health Card that let thousands with no access to health insurance have basic medical attention
-an increase of 25 cents to the salary of people over 25 years, probably so that the country doesn't rise up in arms just yet
    -decreased budget for municipalities

These probably don't sound that horrendous to y'all Americans, but Puerto Rico takes many of these things for granted, and it's extra infuriating when it's not even our country that chose them, but a group of bastards chosen by a foreign government that has no interest in our well-being. Congratulations if you managed to read this in its entirety xdd

a 3rd python empire would be a government that would help pureto rico formaly catuero meowco. Things like relief jobs rebuilding of islands infastructure education food fresh water investment etc.
    Today in Puerto Rico!
A digger belonging to a private company hired by the government to help fix the electrical grid accidentally struck a power line, causing a chain reaction that led to the entire island losing power since around 6 hours ago. It is estimated that it will take at least 24 hours to get it back up and running as it was yesterday. How fun! *cries in Puerto Rican*

In my homeland of Arkansas, USA, it changes up to 30 degrees every day. You can wear snow boots and flip flops in the same week. Wake up and throw on a jacket. When you get home, jump in the river to cool off

everyone makes mistakes someday not today not tomorrow not next year but someday the brontocrats will win over the regressive left you undoubtedly support and fix your island. All that needs to happen is for us to just knock on the rights head and they will realize the importance of nostalgical islands.

Pinochet is one of the greatest men that has ever lived. Selfish bastards? No no no, you see, Goering, Himmler etc were selfish, but dear lord, Hitler was not a selfish man (I'm not endorsing Hitler, I rather dislike him). He literally wanted the best for the Aryans. Not all dictators are selfish, but most are. Most of these are not even dictatorships, they are kleptocracies.

Tell me, then. If you're not the dictator or inside his circle of trust, you'd still be happy to live under an authoritarian regime, knowing you'd be wholly subject to the whims of your leader(s)?

I never think of being the dictator in his inner circle, I want to be an officer in their armies. I would be extremely happy if we would have a leader like Peron or Pinochet.

Sauron. In all seriousness, I'm not sure. I would want Vader to win, since I like him more, but that's just personal bias. I guess it depends on whether Voldemort has the high ground.
