And technically the only reason he needed to enter the war was that his allies were attacked. Yet he didn't? Hmm something's not here... The fact is for the littlest act of agression we could have declared war. Hell before Pearl Harbor, the U.S intercepted a message meant for Mexico offering it parts of the U.S land if it helped in the war effort. Luckily it was intercepted because who knows what damage it could have caused.

Ok. You are incorrect and you're entire argument has been proven wrong by this major mess up. The telegram sent to Mexico was the Zimmerman Telegram which was in World War One from the German Empire. Obviously, your entire argument cannot be taken seriously due to your little knowledge on this subject. Also, the US didn't intercept it. The UK did and they sent to the US.

No you're not talking about reasoning for war, the U.S reason was because of Japan otherwise they would have ignored Germany's conquest. FDR was convinced by the allied forces to attack Germany because they had a superior military and with the fall of Germany, Japan would be easy pickings. The point is the U.S entered the war because of Japan not because of Germany.

We aren't debating with you on who we attacked first but what the reasoning the U.S entered the war for.

Which was Pearl Harbor and we used that as a backdoor to attack Germany. It's a blatant reason. We would have entered the war at a later period no matter what.

It ended up in Anerica's benefit in the long run. They became one of the leaders of the UN, became acknowledged as the strongest military nation, and gained global influence.

No they could have entered it an earlier period when Japan's message to Mexico was intercepted. The fact is they didn't and because they didn't the war pulled them out of the great depression and into a economic boon.

Nevermind the U.S intercepted the Zimmerman telegram during WW2. It still doesn't change the fact you haven't provided factual evidence to support what really can only be called a conspiracy theory

all that document talks about is the prioritization of germany, which only happened because destroying germany would leave japan weak and easy pickings from a tactical standpoint, the goal was still japan.

Also, that source says nothing of FDR hating Germany. It only says things about weapons deals. The U.S was planning to be neutral by selling arms and not going to war. It's a common U.S tactic actually. They were on the side of Great Britain and the allies but only as a trading partner, nothing more than that.

This was before the Pearl Harbor bombing. It's highly likely the U.S wouldn't have taken an active role in the war. Selling weapons and other equipment is a pretty hands off position in war.

The Zimmerman Telegram wasn't in World War Two. You autists are actually causing me to have fucking cancer with these incorrect statements. Here's another government source saying that FDR supported a war with Germany: https://visitpearlharbor.org/didnt-american-initially-join-war/ If we had a few more years into the war and the Soviets were losing even more to Nazi Germany, America would likely have joined. Also, you fucking idiots are confusing strategy and tactics. Both of which are extremely different from each other. Sending arms and equipment is not a hands off position. It is quite clear that you are favoring a side.

ok...? point is, the reason why we got into the war in the first place was pearl harbor. prove me otherwise.
