We have to renegotiate our trade because everyone even our allies is ripping us off and they know it.

The problem with losing trade with the US is that each will lose their most profitable trading partner, which would cost more than renegotiating trade with the US. It is the treat of trade war that the allies (and China) use as leverage to not have to renegotiate, but also that Trump uses to force renegotiation. Either we renegotiate trade or the US continues to get ripped off. The US is the most profitable trading partner in the world, so as an individual player it holds the largest advantage. Also, the security blanket that the US provides Europe and Canada, is a huge factor and the US very much subsidizes the cost of being in NATO, paying beyond it’s share.

Poor negotiations of the past two decades have lead to staggering trade deficits, and many questionable arrangements.

Sorry this is a little late of a reply. Could you give examples of these practices which "rip off" the US, or unfair practices? Do you believe the only way for 'fairness' is to have a trade surplus or break dead even? Why do you believe a trade deficit is a bad thing? Do you believe the US will not suffer at all from instigating a trade war? Do you understand that the US subsidising Europe's defence has little directly to do with how US companies independently trade with foreign companies/nations? Do you also realise that the US subsidising of Europe's defence is in the US's interest, as well as Europe's, and removing this subsidy would but the US at risk and reduce its sphere of influence? Are you aware that the only reason the US can run deficits is because foreign nations lend it a vast amount of money? Are you also aware that a decrease in the trade deficit would require a massive increase in national saving, and that if the trade deficit disappeared, national investment would need to fall below the already small level of national saving, requiring either reduced federal spending or increased taxes?

Oh bushi maybe i would have been more sympathetic towards your kaiser if he hadn't committed atrocities in Namibia / Cameroon and made the dum decision of trying to get mexico to attack the US. Get your head around what he did the real one who made Germany great was Otto von Bismarck and Wilhelm 2nd fired him. Its not anybody saying anything on the internet its the facts.

otto von bismarck was a competent monarch france was a monarchy at the time and so was england

its possible if germany had won ww1 or the versilles treaty wasn't as harsh and the wiemar republic survived he wouldn't have become one. Interestingly britan offered him asylum in his last 2 years after all that had happened

he made some really big screw ups which caused his country to fail and for hackerism to take hold of germany with its corrupt idealogies

a communist germany would have been just as bad as nazi germany

combined soviet union china cambodia cuba north korea and the other communists countries murdered 100 million people. Now a communist germany probably wouldn't have gone to the level of brutality as nazi germany did but they would have been close to their level. communism is evil but nazism people just see communism better because they haven't experienced communism / socialism tyrany and beileve that if they reimplied communism in their way it would work. these people are wrong. they just want attention and to get free things
