The orcs were getting closer. They had pierced through all 4 gates and were now pummeling the fifth. Minas Tirith was about to meet it's doom, everyone knew it, yet everyone refused to believe it. I stood at the large fountain, along with with yet another archer companion. The thick stream of water flowing through the ornate opening in the moment had managed to breach the floor of our platform and now tunneled through the ground of the platform bellow us. I had caught some orcs testing their luck, trying to swim upstream and get us from behind. Most of them drowned, the others were killed under the arrows of me and my companion, which I only ever met him as "Noah". Then we heard it. An unherthly, piercing sharp screech. I took my hands to my ears, looking to sooth the pounding pain that had taken them over by assault. And the... we saw it. A Naz-Gul had perched itself on one tower and was mauling an unfortunate soldier of ours. It swooped down from the tower and started picking up any soldiers too slow to escape. Once it had them in its grasp, it threw them off the ledge. Arrows were flying everywhere, seeking desperately to hit the airborne creature. It was pretty much impossible to do so, so the best strategy our battalion had found to take down the Naz-Guls was crushing them with the shear number of arrows thrown, hopping only enough would hit it so it would die. I was in the desperate strandle as well, shooting left and right. And so was my companion. But some arrows must have hit it, for it was starting to screech sadly, and there were visible streaks of red running down its body. It turned its head to me. It flapped its wings, knocking down several of my teammates attempting to kill it, and it flew to me.
"Oh"
That was the last thing I could say before its sharp claws grabbed my torso and it took off. I stabbed its feet and legs ferociously, unable to accept that death was imminent, but in vain, they were heavily armored. It screeched again, maybe a scream of victory? Its claws loosened around my body and I fell. This was it. I closed my eyes. Seconds seem to drag to hours, as I- thump ... Fell? I was still alive. My entire body was sore and I was pretty sure I had a broken leg, but I was alive. How? I opened my eyes. An open hand was spread across them. I took it without protest and got up. I looked around, confused. I looked at Noah, who seemed as I confused as I did.
"I... I killed... I killed it..." He said, pointing at a dark mass to my to my side. I turned to it and saw the body of the Naz-Gul, several arrows protruding from it. I looked back at him and mumbled and a thanks. He smiled, said no problem and headed back into fight.
I never saw him again. I grasped my bow, still shaken by the whole roll of events, and started to aim it at yet another Naz-Gul that had appeared over the wall. I had been attacked by a Naz-Gul. And survived. Miracle? Luck? Maybe. But it all came down to Noah.
tl;dr I was attacked by a Naz-Gul on Minas tirith. It grabbed me and some guy killed it, freeing me form it and letting me fall safely.
This was based off something that actually happened on the server and to this day I consider it the most epic thing that ever happened on MC to me.
