The Autumn Update (II): Tweaks & Fixes
Moria Changes
We have made some major changes to the Stairs area of the Halls of Moria map, in the hope we can make the area more bearable to play on. Thank you to our Builder the_pharaohs_cat for much of the aesthetic changes - because of him the two areas we changed look much more appealing.
The second area that was changed is the part just before the Bridge of Khazad-Dum, where the Mines area and Facade have been aesthetically updated. This shouldn't have much effect on gameplay, and you can see what it looks like in the header image.
You can check out the before and after pictures in this imgur album, and have a look at a screenshot of the new stairs area below. Unfortunately, due to various issues with 1.13, lighting mechanics are well and truly messed up. As such, apologies if some of the Halls of Moria is weirdly lit - it's not our fault!
Thanks to some of you on the Forums (as well as myself, to an extent...), you can now view the lore of the map you're playing by typing /lore or /loreinfo. If you think this should be tweaked at all, there's a forum thread for that
Bug Fixes & Tweaks
The boring part of the update!
- Fixed /nextmap progress indicators spamming chat.
- Fixed Spruce Trapdoors being toggleable by players.
- Fixed fire being extinguishable when it shouldn't be.
- Fixed Men of Dale not being able to sp awn at Park flag in new lobby.
- Fixed Helm's Deep Isengard team getting orc head instead of Uruk-hai head.
- Fixed Elven Archer not being able to Pick up arrows.
- Fixed Uruk & Corsair Crossbow not being able to pick up bolts.
- Fixed Dwarven Crossbow only being able to pick up 6, instead of 8, bolts.
- Fixed Dwarven Crossbow only being able to restock 6, instead of 8, bolts.
- Fixed Uruk Crossbow not being able to restock bolts.
- Slowed Torcher torch throwing from every 0.8 seconds to every 1.5 seconds.
I honestly didn't get quite enough done as I'd hoped this time round - specifically, I feel Pelargir Seafarer needs some work still, and there are always more bugs to fix!
Beyond that, the next update you can expect should be coming out towards the end of next month, and I'm tentatively calling it the Haloween Update. Even further beyond that, we have our 7th anniversary around the 11th of November, so I'm sure Tim and I will have some fun events planned for you then.
