Can you figure out my rule?

I have three numbers: 2, 4, and 8.
These three numbers follow a specific rule.
They may follow more than one rule, but there is one specific rule I have in mind.
You must guess this rule.
If you give me a set of three numbers, I can address whether those apply to my rule.
Now ready, set, and go!

(Please don't spoil this if you already know the answer.)
(If you could put your answer in a spoiler tab, then that will help with keeping the fun to go on with others.)

3.141592653 That's all I know for pi. If it is pi, then we can paste any random three numbers in any order and Ender's rule would work.

1, 3, 7

Cheaters prosper.
Both of those fit my rule, although I don't understand why you simply copied them from Kill. . . You're supposed to guess the rule, not the numbers. . .[/quote]
....
Good enough.

First one doubles. 1 plus 1 is 2. so then the second number doubles (or whatever, don't want to say it's * here cuz english) so 2 plus 2 is 4. That's the rule for the first number i believe.
Second one just first adds the number 2 and then the number 4. so 1 plus 2 is 3 and then again for 3 plus 4 is 7.

+(+0.5 x 4) + (2 x 1) + ( 3.79 + 0.21)
That is not my rule.

The rule is one thing[/i] that will fit all number sets I say work.
Also, neither of those are my rule.
