Downloadind maps

hi guys, i downloaded helms deep and put in my saves folder ( i have a mac) i clicked save and when i logged in i was in normal minecraft all my servers were gone single player worlds and texture pack what did i do wrong!(btw the map was helms)

Did you compress the file?

Maybe you accidently replaced the saves file with the helms deep file?
This wouldn't have affected your serverlist tho... IDK

thx anyways its an easy fix i just kind of wanna play the map singleplayer :/

no you don't. not enough trolls/archers to kill with a power IV bow

In order to successfully load the map you have to put the .zip in your saves folder and open the file to make it a folder, not a .zip.
Seeing you use mac, this could probably be done using Zipeg or Archive Utility.
