The best LOTR moment ever was not in the movies or the trilogy. No, it was the story of Turin.

Of course the story of Turin isn't the best LOTR moment, it's not even in LOTR. Middle-Earth, yeah, LOTR, no.

And my favourite part in the book for comedy is in the Hobbit with Bombur falling in the black river in Mirkwood, then all the dwarves heaving him on the shore, and for epicness, from film and book, Pellenor.
