Hack Ban Length

Well. DasButen was recently banned for hacks. Only a few people believed me at all, and many discouraged this idea. We reported him, with not enough proof. Then, I asked him and he didn't say he had hacks at all. (I wish I had the screenies still :P) I think that if someone doesn't admit to they're hacks and gets caught, the punishment should be longer. I also believe that a 5 day ban for hacks is too small. 2 weeks sounds better. Also, I like the idea when someone appeals there ban is cut in half, but with small punishments like this they wont learn there lesson.

So yah, maybe more time to the ban for hacks if people have proof they wont admit they're hacks. Maybe if they do, a shorter punishment for them. Not like after they get banned and they appeal. This should praise the idea of admitting hacks to get a shorter punishment or even no punishment at all. I know hardly hackers ever admit there hacks espically when a normal player or donor asks them, but if a staff does they might answer correctly. Considering the staff is hardly on, and with only not on for quite a bit, I suggest making a rule somewhat like this.

So ya, a longer punishment for people who don't admit there hacks, and a shorter for the ones who do before they get caught.

Or maybe theres a better idea. Feel free to comment below!

A nice thing to do when you're a moderator and catch a hacker is to ask them if they hack first.
Of course you already know the answer, but it's fun to see their reaction and their answer, and you might want to decide their ban time partly depending on the answer.

Aka daily satisfaction for moderators ;)

The thing is, you can't hack by accident.
You are going out of your way to cheat the game.

Bans should be longer.

Minor hacks (radar, speed)should have at least 2 weeks.

Major hacks (antiknockback,forcefield/kill aura, aimbot, or any combination of several minor/major hacks) should be 2 months minimum.

Well, most hackers don't return after their first ban, so I actually don't see what the problem is.

Make it a permanent ban unless they appeal on the forums then change it to temp. If they TRULY feel bad and wish to come back on they will go through the trouble of:
1. Creating a Enjin Account
2. Registering on the website
3. Make a paragraph long apology

This will prove they actually want to comeback on

You can't hack per accident, you can lag/bug out per accident and people will think you hack.
I think 5-20 days are fine, as people who get banned for that period won't hack again being afraid to lose access again.
If we should find them doing it a second time the bans most likely extend to a 1-2 month period.

You need to be on the server to add the character other wise then account won't work
Not on Empire War, on an enjin server.

Nope, you have to link your account for certain things, but not for joining a community. Besides, as Weby stated above, you don't do it on the community's server. You connect to Enjin's own server which they have for this kind of thing only.

You do need a character to join our website, it's one of the rules we use to prevent people making several accounts with the same Minecraft account.

There is no "satisfaction" in banning a player, for whatever he has done. We ban as a last resort, and we do not enjoy it at all.

Maybe a longer ban for the hackers, and it will be shortened if they appeal or a perm ban for hacks but if they really care about playing the server make an enjin account and appeal.
