Remembering the past is the same as complaining about the present ^^You guys really need to stop living in the past. Thinking about good times won't magically make them appear.
I dont see how talking about older times is offense, and calling people veterans means they have been around for a long time and are usually respected. There is around 10+ vets on, though most aren't really that active. "In with the new, out with the old "Stop talking about "ages" there is one age. Squidsrule please stop with the veteran talk. Noone is a veteran. There are experienced players and new players. We need to help the new players become more experienced. The server isn't just the 3 "veterans" you can remember, so stop talking like the server is loosing all of it's players. You are new to the forums Idk about the server. But since you state you have been playing over 2 years I'll trust that. But as I've said before a rank and a player saying he's the pillar of the community doesn't mean he is it. And if you've been playing for 2 years you should know there are more than 3 experienced players active.
The Birth of EW: That era was when there was mini-helms, isengard with trees, and stone slab minas tirith. There hardly any classes besides swordsman, mage, archer, I don't remember if there was troll. It was also a very small tight knit community. (this is my second favorite era, it gives me nostalgia ;-) )
The Golden Age:That era was the best. There were donor classes, but I dont think there were voting classes or not. Eula didnt exist. Donors were really respected. There were still veterans. Iwasnumber4, Lord_Sauron, and other staff were very active. Though the donor classes were unfair or way too weak, it was nice. There was only one moria, minas tirith, minas morgul, isengard, and helms I believe were the only maps. There was the survival event. And the very long, big, famous Akam and Lazee Flame Wars. (Btw this is my favorite era )
The Era of Transition: This was the age were some weird things had happened, a map or two were added. Eula got rid of our donor classes, point classes were added. Those weird dutch noobs that came out of no where came to the server. We began to loose like 1 or 2 vetrans, but not that much. Some donor things were being tweeked. I think daily present was added during this era. And the age of the donor was ending. Being a donor during this era wasnt as big or as important as being a donor during the golden age, because they lost many things, most notably, their op (well some were op, others were not) donor classes. Along with that, we all remember the horrible, weird, dysfunctional map known as pellenor. (Btw this was my least favorite era)
The Era of Lose and Gain:This is the era where we lost many good people, staff and donors especially. We were having staff demoted, veterans from the golden age and the birth of EW were leaving because they were getting tired of the server and went to do other things like cool_col. Many staff left because they were inactive, most notably Only_God. But this is an age of gain aswell because we got a lot of maps like erebor, black gate, erdoras, and osogiliath. This era ended recently. (Btw this was my second least favorite era. If it werent for the new maps, it wouldve been the worst age)
The Era of Reform: This era has just begun. I call this the era of reform, because to me it seems that there have been a lot of suggestions made by the community recently more than any other era. From spawn reforms to stop spawn camping and killing, to class reforms like how hammerer is too weak and how archer is too op, to new class suggestions, new map suggestions, and new donor perk suggestions (Pythonawe ;-)). (Btw Im starting to like this era a lot )
