Is it possible to travel back in time?
no it is not because you travel at the speed of light
I mean, we see the past lights of the far starts from the Earth: maybe, when the light of those reach the Earth, those stars even died!
yes and I use this concept, because some sun light will be reflected so when you go with the speed of light + one kilometer per hour faster you can look back in time.

If a red supergiant explodes it would generate enough light to light up the night, 8-and-a-half years after it exploded.

According to Einstein's Theory of Relativity you can not travel faster than light, but the closer you get to the speed of light, time slows down. So if you travel at a fast enough rate/speed you are able to travel into the future because, lets say you are traveling 95% of the speed of light, 1 minute for you (Just showing an example) can be ,let's say, 7 years for the rest of the universe, so (depending on the way you think and look at it) you are somewhat time traveling. But time travel into the is still a possibility to debate. If it is, and you change something like steep on an ant or make a paradox (like the grandfather paradox) there are some theories that say that time is like a river, and you cause a ripple in it (the ripple signifying the change you cause) the river's current will always correct itself. But there is another theory (among the countless amounts of theories surrounding time) that when you cause a ripple in the river, the river will change its course and current from a slight bit to a whole lot. But if you believe in the multiverse universe theory you will possible create a new universe and destroy the one you were once previously if you change something in the past, or you may create a new universe and have the old one that you were once in isolated from time or kept the same. I know, I strayed waaaay too off topic. Yeah science, time, physics, quantum mechanics, and the Theory of Relativity are really confusing for some  . College... *sigh*

P.S. I'm sorry if I made some mistakes on what I wrote, though I love the sciences and physics I can get things mixed up and or get somethings wrong. My apologies.

You can travel back in time, but to a certain extent. If you traveled faster than the speed of light, then you are traveling into the past, but not far past.
You see, the sunlight that hits you is 8 minutes old because it takes light 8 minutes for sunlight to hit you. If you traveled back in time, you could actually receive 1 minute old sunlight or even younger. This goes for anything at all. If a planet 100 light years away from us got destroyed, we would find out in 100 years' time, but if traveled to it, you would realize it was destroyed 100 years before us. The farther you go and the faster you go above the speed of light, the farther into the past you can go. I am no scientist, but I am confident in my theory (its a theory since no one has traveled faster than the speed of light yet).

On the topic of time, (do NOT read if you watch the Flash and not have seen the latest episode) there is a TV show that just presented time travel to its viewers. Barry Allen was at the scene of his mom's murder twice. Twice? Allow me to explain: He was eight when this happened, and he saw the Reverse Flash (Not Dr. Wells) stab his mom. He was also present in adult form and beat up the Reverse Flash, and the Adult Barry moved the kid Barry to safety during this so kid Barry would not get hurt. The show "The Flash" is really good. I recommend you watch it (sorry for spoils but theres much more you have not heard so give it a try).

if you look in space you are watching the past so if you use a telescope and watch a star far away you are seeing the past (no travalling at all and still you can see the past). If you want to see the past on earth just fly away on a rocket at the speed of light and look at eart with a telescope. (if you are at the height of the sun you can look 8 minutes back in time.

I really like the JUST xD
