Some people *cough* lady paladin *cough* who should remain un-named seem to think that if I fight them in my spawn whilst they are spawn killing me, then it's not spawn kill, and that it's fine to do. Can any staff member please clarify?
 
At the moment on EW, there is a distinction between protected and unprotected spawns.
The whole situation in my view is quite unclear, and should be changed, but let me try and explain.

Spawnkilling someone whilst they are in a protected spawn is completely illegal. Shooting/meleeing people outside your protected spawn, whilst you are inside it, is not illegal - but the ideal is that protected spawns should be designed in such a way that is unlikely to happen. You should refrain from doing it nonetheless.

Spawkilling someone who has literally spawned next to you, in an uprotected spawn is... less illegal. The fact is, if that person had left you for a bit you might have killed him. The upside is that unprotected spawns usually have far more spawn points, so if you do get killed immediately you will hopefully spawn somewhere else next time.

To answer your question, if you were in a protected spawn it was spawnkill and punishable, if you weren't it was still spawkill, but less punishable.

p.s: People who spawn do also get an immunity for x seconds. Unsure how long this is, but I believe it should be extended.
 
The immunity that I get is all taken up by spawn lag, where I can't move and can't do anything for about 3 secs. Also, they were chasing someone else back into the spawn, as soon as I could move, and see everyone else moving they were right in front of me and killing me.
 
In my opinion, since spawnkill has been a hot topic of contention lately, there should be somthing implemented where players are invulnerable with resistance 5 i think until they move or maybe just give em slow 127 & res 5 for 5 seconds...

there is spawn invulnerability but it isn't much and its not resistance its total invulnerability. if its resistance they still take pvp knockback. but yes I do think it should be implemented more
