Leaderboard Reward Ideas

:Disclaimer: This is not a fully thought out and developed idea, I just thought that I would like to address an issue with possible solutions.

The Leaderboard Situation

As hard as it is to earn your place into the hall of fame at the top of the leaderboards, very little things are done with this. The problem is that there are no rewards that correlate to being the best in a skill. There is no real goal as a levelling system doesn't exist on EW so the next best thing would be the leaderboards. Yet this still provides no end goal as no real achievement takes place. Now here comes the solutions.

General Ideas

-After somebody finally overtakes a player in a certain stat in chat there could be an announcement and maybe even a small firework for the overtaking player. This would bring some excitement to the occasion of an overtake.

-Players who hold a place in the hall of fame could receive some kind of hall of fame tag next to their name. However, this may complicate chat a bit too much.

-Just like the crowns that some donators get on their heads, hall of fame players could also just some sort of cosmetic thing for themselves but making sure that it is unique so not to spoil the donators' rare crown.

Kit Specific Idea

This idea would be very unlikely and maybe somewhat unbalanced but like I said at the start, just some ideas to throw out there. For hall of fames like repair, heal, and others alike which have a specific/a few specific kits for them some kind of special cosmetic could be added. For example:

Constructor - Wood Logs instead of Wooden Planks
Medic - Some kind of dyed armour

But I honestly don't know entirely.
My point that I want to get across is that the hall of fame is a bit boring with no real perks to it.
Hall of fame? More like hall of LAME am I right!11!!1! *Dab* *Dab* Rickety Wrecked!

An Actual Good Suggestion

I know that this has been suggested in the past but we really need this to happen to drive the community. Weekly leaderboards. Come on. It just has to happen.

Personally I wouldn't like to see all of these ideas be put in as some of them honestly aren't really that good but I just want to get some ideas out there. To conclude I do feel like we should give this Hall of Fame some more love. Thank you for your time you took to read this.

The funny thing is that for a while, assassin and me had very close repair stats and the Top Repairs would change like 3 times a day or a couple per week. Now ofc it's over, he's way less active but imagine if this occurs again XD.

When you said that top constructor could get logs, I thought hmm that's a nice idea. IDK if Tim can code it so, because the constructor wood resets on map because it's the only planks on the map. EVERYTHING ELSE which is part of the map and look a plak, is actually a double slab. So the thing eraces only the planks alone

It's an interesting idea and i see where you're comming from. However: Making all these different cosmetics and customizations will be trickier than you might think, and i'm sure Tim would rather spend time adding more useful content. I don't think our top players need much more than a place in the hall of fame. What i do think would be a nice addition to EW though is some sort of EXP/Levelling system, to give some sort of progression feeling to players other than buying classes.
 
I think a better way to handle this problem is by adding new monthly leaderbords instead of the current hall of fame. This way, players will actually have a chance in overtaking others, and there could be rewards at the end of the month.
 
Adding monthly or even weekly leaderboards is a great idea and should definitely be added.
 
Yes I would really love to see monthly leaderboards, but the hall of fame should stay. It shows off the greatest players and the greatest achievements.
P.S. Pls don't remove it I have been working towards most heals and repairs for months now.

Will have to work for another 20 months... I'm not giving repairs record to anyone
 
Don't you worry. I'm still like 10k off and plus, I'm going after #1 med first just so that I can make Gooala change him nickname on the EW discord from #1 med to #2 med >:)
 
Yeah monthly leaderboards are a must, I will try and get Tim to add them for the update after this one. At the end of the month there could be point rewards in each stat as well as an overall score reward.
