Microsoft offering 2 billion to buy Minecraft

There isn't much news on this yet, as right now it is just an empty claim. But apparently someone who knows about the deal stated that Microsoft is offering Mojang 2 Billion Dollars for the rights to Minecraft.

Now, since there is not much news to this and it has NOT been confirmed, please keep the replies civil, here are the news sources that are already reporting it, saying it is "developing the story further" I will add more news sources as they appear.

And if we could actually be mature about this and not go hysterical with jokes about what Microsoft would do with Minecraft in it's hands that would be great. Thanks.

I guess I should clarify since people keep doing it, DO NOT POST HERE SAYING THINGS LIKE "Omg microsoft will add a membership payment" or "we will have to pay for multiplayer" These are over the top predictions that will never happen.
 
If this deal goes through, Microsoft would now own Mojang and Minecraft. What could this mean for Minecraft Playstation?
 
If this happens, then i hope that microsoft will keep the game as it is otherwise there will be 11 million people rather ticked off about it...
 
Guys, keep in mind microsoft is still bigger then apple (not for long but still) has done enough and the chance for them to reupdate the eula is very important for them if they wanne earn their money back just because, yeah 2 billion is alot of money

Dumb ways to kill Minecraft, so many Dumb ways to kill Minecraft.
Well, Minecraft's f**ked. First, the EULA. Second, Bukkit closes (and my brother is happy: idiot, there is time for playing and time for griefing, not only griefing). And now, Microsoft.

This isn't true, it's all made up by the media in response to a joke Notch made.
Mojang has no intentions to sell Minecraft or kill the game in any way.
