A few issues that need clearing up. Consider them secondary rules, but rules which are still as enforceable as on the "Rules" page. This thread will be updated when necessary.
1: Do not accuse people of hacks.
2: Do not abuse the Enjin reports system.
3: Do not post anywhere other than the Appeals section about your punishment.
4: An elaboration on spawnkilling.
1: Do not accuse people of hacks.
- This is an ever increasing issue on Empire War. Stop doing it.
- Mods will mute you immediately if you do so.
- If you publicly accuse someone of hacks in chat, two bad things could happen: a) They do hack, they see you have noticed and then turn off their hacks. This is bad because then staff can't punish them, as we cannot get the necessary evidence. b) They do not hack, in which case you are just spamming chat with false information, and annoying a legitimate player.
- If you believe someone does hack, record and report it on the forums. If for whatever reason you cannot do this, message a mod privately.
- As of 20/03/2018, this is an official rule.
2: Do not abuse the Enjin reports system.
- This is only in cases when someone has gravely and extremely contravened the forum rules, or committed any major offence.
- When you make a report it messages every single staff member.
- Do not use this function for reporting posts you disagree with, and never use it to report a staff member's post.
- Mistakes using this system have been tolerated up until now, but henceforward this will result in a prompt forum ban.
3: Do not post anywhere other than the Appeals section about your punishment.
- Do not message the Moderator who banned you, nor message any other member of staff.
- Do not ever start complaining publicly in the discord server.
- Naturally, joining with an alt and complaining that way is in contravention of Rule #5.
- If you get someone else to complain for you, your chances of appeal will decrease dramatically, and it is likely they will be punished too.
4: An elaboration on spawnkilling.
- Due to the prevalence of unprotected spawns, common sense is necessary.
- See Rule #6 for specifics.
- In the end, your chances of being or not being punished depend on: a) Has the person moved? b) Is the person actively attacking you? c) Are they within an obviously protected spawn? d) Have you entered an obviously protected spawn?
- As stated, the best option is to a) Consult common sense b) Consult a Moderator. If you are in any doubt, best to back away from what you were doing.
