Mojang just announced

https://mojang.com/2014/06/lets-talk-server-monetisation/

This prevents all server from selling any items that affect gameplay. (So not items like pets, tags, coloured text, join full server) and thus disallows everything like selling classes, points, point boosts, commands like /unite, /scream, double gold, tnt in LMS and many more of our rewards.
This means we HAVE to either stop the server or remove all these donator rewards that give you an ingame advantage.
Which will cause all people to stop donating, us to lose all money and the server to end.

Conclusion: I can not think of any way the server will survive this for more than a few months.

Please give me any suggestions you have, and don't be angry at me. I am not responsible for this, Mojang decided to come up with these *downright stupid* rules to remove any of our possibilities to keep running the server well and spend time on it.

Note: Please do not create any other threads to discuss the EULA, it will only cause panic and confusing. Any other EULA threads will be removed.

My god . . .
Why.
Question, and I know this sounds selfish, but will we keep our stuff?
Do the changes explicitly talk about removing existing donator privileges?
According to Mojang, even old donors lose all ranks that aren't allowed with the current terms. Which means stuff like selling classes, points, point boosts, commands like /unite, /scream, double gold, tnt in LMS and many more of our rewards. Not custom name tags and tablist colours (and join full servers)

What if we just donated? And then like weeks later you "gave" us stuff?
I can't change this or do anything against this. Full responsibility lies with Mojang.
I won't remove ranks anytime soon, unless I have to be forced to it by Mojang or we find a different solution.

The EULA ( fact overlooked by Mojang ) being more monitored will kill minecraft so in theory someone could tell them that no they want this to stay popular so they would be ending their game what they don't want at all they are forgetting the 10000000 or so people that play on servers and that they will have to be more lax for the game to surive

...those "1000000 or so people" already paid for their account, so I don't think mojang cares.

But they are being stupid. There are SO MANY minecraft servers out there, if somebody is unhappy, he can always leave/start his own server locally/with realms/find another server/whatever, or just be cool with the fact that some people donated - for the server to go forward - and they DESERVE perks. And cosmetic perks are a real joke.

They don't care. They wouldn't had done this if they thought about that and they won't care if the game ends.

Mojang will remove staff accounts to prevent us from monetizing
Then just give us the perks because "you like us". ;-)
the server.
They will check on that and punish us anyways.

...hide staff account names in the server ? There are so many servers out there that I really don't think they could ever do anything.
They'd target the succesful ones. It's easy to just go to the top 50 on PMC and check those, in which we're in.
You can't "hide staff" they're always somewhere to be found.
