To conserve money the host has been downgraded as not enough people bought ranks on siege. the new host as some of you may know is very laggy. I am going to tell you the story about how we came up with this genius idea. Me, Mr_CookieSmurf and sjoerdtim were having a talk about why they were not in bed and negotiating terms as to how many points I would get if i didn't tell their moms they were hacking one night

when I had this wonderful idea. the potato of derpyness cookiesmurf gave me when I got him a toilet on tirith (long story, but u can read about it here http://www.empirewar.org/forums/m/5312442/viewthread/15392732-mrcookie-needs-toilet) would be perfect for the server to run on!. so I stole borrowed a SR-71 Blackbird to visit sjoerdtim and he went to the store and got the cheapest computer parts possible and plugged it all together,

and now the server runs perfectly fine. he did it in the middle of the night so nobody would be disturbed by him bringing the servers offline cuz, well he was still up. but then Mr cookiesmurf decided to eat the potato because he had not eaten the derpy potato in a long time. and so we had to stop him (I picked him up in the stolen borrowed blackbird) anyways us stopping him looked about like:

so after that sjoerdtim decided to reboot the server see how it ran after it had a few bite marks in it. and thanks to [user avatar="https://cravatar.eu/helmavatar/ThuBioNerd/74.png" name="ThuBioNerd"]3751908[/user] wall post we got the feedback we needed to know everything was working just as planned :thumb:. then I flew Mr cookie back home and he ate some cookies and felt better, then I flew home to return the stolen borrowed blackbird but for some reason they were mad and arrested me. I then got a pysolasomething to say that I was to crazy to go to court and needed mental health stuffz. anyways i ended up getting home alright. And that is why the server is so laggy recently, The End.

btw all stuff is very true just ask mr cookie smurf or sjoerdtim to verify it, (and if u guys don't verify it I will tell ur moms ur hacking fer sure)

The reason why the server doesn't get any money is because of the lack of content. It gets really boring..
 
Tim should keep updating, like adding Music when the a game starts, for example> tirith > gondor theme. VonoxNL will be amused if he notices it and there will be more people.
 
This entire post is total bullshit and based on no truths.
We didn't "downgrade" the host and especially not for money. We've been earning very well. The old host quit without giving us any warning so we HAD to pick a new host quickly, it wasn't by any choice. The new host also isn't "very laggy", it's perfectly fine for most people, like for me and many others.
Don't make claims without any knowledge about weather it's true or not.

We get plenty of money and have plenty of players, just not people like you who played the same maps for years over and over.
 
I have to admit for me and my shitty laptop, this new host is super laggy... but that might just be the school wifi :P

Of course content gets boring after years and years of repeating the same maps.

But that new content that the community likes generally promotes an increase in players, activity, and donations.

I could see why some certain people claim that the reason they don't play E. W. anymore is due to a lack of content. New content doesn't always mean that it is the "solid" content that most players strive for.

Im fine with playing maps over and over
 
but seriously guys. if you really do manage to catch staff hacking make em pay up on points. that way they will not ban you while you post the proof AND you get points. Or if you catch a staff member up past 1 AM in their timezone track their ip down and threaten to tell their mom they are still up if they do not give you points. I have done a few variations of this like shown in the above screenshot. it is very profitable.
