Polarnik abusing his powers

so it started this evening (5 june) with a random guy in chat asking what a premod is, polarnik who was online at the time, replied to him: 'a moderator in training'.
Then I commented 'still needs a lot more training though'.

For anyone wondering why I felt the need to comment that, it's because I simply don't like polar.
we have had times in the past where we did not see eye to eye, and since he got moderator I feel like he's abusing his powers everytime he gets offended (by me) in the slightest. It's not the first time i've been muted by him for nothing, for example not long ago where he muted me for getting mad at a guy who was constantly provoking me and rikumaru. Now, this guy didn't get any punishment even after he went on for some time after i had received my mute. Polar even admitted himself that he should've muted him weeks later (worthless apologizing which didn't change i alone had to endure a way too long mute)

But getting to the point: polar mutes me for ?????. he doesn't give any warnings and it just shows how touchy polar is. In my opinion anyone who gets offended as easily as this and then mutes people without saying anything to them just isn't cut out to be a mod, after my mute expired I let him know I think he's a bad moderator and instead of explaining why he mutes me or taking things up in discussion he just remains quiet for a few minutes followed by giving me a sudden mute for a whole 2 days.

I hope you guys can see reason and unmute me as soon as possible
P.S i'd also like to be unbanned from the discord and i think at most 1 warning was deserved

Let's start with the discord issue, because its easier:
>You were upset with a punishment. You must always appeal, and not take it up on the discord - this is obvious, and a well known fact.
>I told you two or three times to drop it on the discord, and you refused, so I banned you. That ban will stay for the forseeable future.
>This is because a ban serves two purposes: to prevent and punish. It will prevent you doing something like it again, and hopefully a long enough ban will eventually make you realise your error.
>This is what Polar said on the matter: I was in the midst of writing a message to apologize to him and to say I shortened his mute from two days to one day. However, he started ranting about my poor moderating skills and the injustice done to him on the meme channel (which was muted for me), and after an unheeded warning from Tob, he was permanently banned on the Discord.

And on the issue of Polar muting you for going on and on about how you dislike him and believe he is a bad Pre-Moderator:
>What Polar wrote: I still don't believe that my mute was too long. He has behaved like this ever since I became a staff member, and whenever I punish him he complains because he thinks the mute is too long, completely disregarding his previous behaviour to me throughout the past two months. I warned him many times in this period, and even though I should have given a clearer warning before I muted him today (the 5 minute mute WAS the warning), it doesn't justify his stance towards me beforehand. I don't treat him differently because I have some sort of personal vendetta against him, I only give harsher punishments because of his previous wrongdoings.
>We can see from this that it was not that single sentence and what you followed it up with that caused the two day mute, but a long programme of abuse directed towards him.

The classic response to this is something along the lines of "free speech" and "I should be allowed to say what I think". Your view would be "I don't like him, so why don't I tell the whole world I don't like him?"
>Firstly, this is not just a matter of him being staff, not at all. If we take this at the most basic level, your behaviour has been extremely disrespectful to another player. This is clearly against rule 1.
>For example, I've punished people for abuse towards RobRem before - this is no different in that respect.
>You might well say that "respect is earnt". And yes, it is. However, on this server you must abide by the rules, and that includes keeping your opinions to themselves *or* messaging a senior staff member about your issues.

>The whole situation would have been far better had you made this post in the first place - we (the staff) are always much happier with a post such as this than raving in the public discord or server chat.

One final thing. No, the staff are not holy, and we are open to criticism. But you must realise (this goes for everyone), it is not easy. Jorimd told me in PM that I take my role too seriously for a small minecraft server, and I wholly disagree with that. If we took our roles lightly, there would be far more injustice here. It's damn hard and often not very fun at all being where we are, and even harder when you are new to the job - there is a reason, as you well said, why Polar is in training. Just sometimes, give him a break. This is why that you might get what you view as an out-of-proportion response - it's hard when we try our damnest to do our best, then the likes of you simply spam chats with hatred.

So:
>Discord ban stays.
>I initially extended your mute to 5 days, I'll reduce this to three since you eventually appealed. It's 1 day longer due to your actions in discord - the two media are not separate, and rule-breaking on one can lead to punishments on the other.
