Skirmish: Rohan vs. Dunland

A band of Dunlendings have descended from the hills and are launching raids on camps in the Gap of Rohan, seeking to disrupt Rohan's defenses. It is unknown how Dimitri will react to this offense. The Dunlendings are currently camped on the far side of the Fords of Isen, enjoying the spoils of war. Their tents are pitched in close-knit circles of four or five tents, each with a fire in the center. They have posted guards, but not in excess.

Riders of Westfold vs. Wild Men of Dunlendings

Leaders: (Rohan) Dimitri, Archon of Rohan, Erkenbrand, Lord of Westfold (Dunlenings) Aengus of southern Dunland

Forces: (Rohan) 500
(NOTE: Dimitri may call for reinforcements anywhere in Westfold or ride from Edoras)
500 cavalry on the eastern bank of the Fords
(fyi 1,000 infantry at the Hornburg, 700 cavalry and 300 royal lancers at Edoras, 2,000 cavalry at Westfold)
(Dunlendings) 2,000
1,800 infantry, 200 mounted men

Location: The Fords of Isen in the Gap of Rohan

*sends a rider to the westfold. Orders horse archers to set their arrows ablaze and to aim for the tents. Sets the remaining forces along the other side of the fords.

"Do not charge. Do not withdraw. Stand fast against the scum of Dunland. We are the men of Rohan, the horselords, defenders of the deep! We stood against the might of Isengard and Mordor and faltered not! No, instead we destroyed the hosts of both fell places! Sons of Rohan, my brothers! I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of men fails, when we forsake our friends and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. An hour of wolves and shattered shields, when the age of men comes crashing down! But it is not this day! This day we fight! By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you stand, Men of the West!"

Dayum son you screwed up at the end. That stuck out like a boner at a pool parteh.
Btw whatever Beep says we're doing this in between The Hobbit and lotr because why the hell would Mordor still be there? It gets dull after lotr. So yeah.

Several of the arrows hit the tents, and some of them soon start to blaze. Several Dunlendings stagger out of their tents, weapons held, and some run down to the river to fetch water.

*gestures for the horse archers to prepare for a mass volley. Rides to the river and yells a challenge to the enemy. "C'mon lads! Is this all you got?"

The war would slow down the horsemen and anyone else attempting to cross. And how long will it take for a man to reach the Westfold and ride back to here with the army? Also, I'm going to be on an airplane for about 9 hours so I would prefer to get this done with soon.

The Dunlending chief strides out clad in chain mail. Upon his head is a tall steel helm, and he holds a sable shield and one-bladed battle axe. At his side is a sword of iron, and a cloak of wolfskin is slung around his shoulders, fastened with gold. His boots are of leather, and upon his shield is the emblem of a crebain on a yellow field. He shouts in Dunlending and his warriors begin to assemble as the last of the blaze is beat out or quenched. The foremost troops also have sable shields and form a wall with spears, swords, and axes facing outward.

"I want bodkin arrows at the ready for a mass volley. Get some trees down and get them in front of the line now." A group of riders with large axes dismount and start chopping down some trees for a barricade.

A small group of about a hundred Dunlendings breaks from the main formation and begins to cross the fords, yelling and uttering war-cries.

Three small trees are felled and are made into a makeshift barricade. A volley of arrows is fired from the archers, aimed towards the scum. "Do not open fire after that volley." GTG, BYE. DON'T CONTINUE THIS TILL I'M ONLINE AGAIN. SHOULD BE LIKE 5:00 P.M Central time.

The trees are dragged towards the fords. The arrows mow down the Dunlendings, and thirty drop dead. The others shield themselves and form a semicircle of sable and wood.

No we are doing fourth age.

Has my reinforcements appeared yet? Because if they have....

*has the newly arrived horse-archers move up behind the main line. Orders the remaining men to dismount and get to the barricade.
